years – 1/1/2008 through 12/31/2010
Cost sharing for the HMO options will continue on
the same basis as in 2007. That is:
-
The Company will contribute 90% of the premium
cost for the low cost HMO to all HMOs offered.
-
The employee will contribute 10% of the cost if
they enroll in the low cost HMO.
-
The employee will pay any additional difference
in cost for more expensive HMO options; however, in no case will the employee
pay more than 20% of the total cost.
The Company will pay 80% of the premium cost of the
Point Of Service (POS) plan.
There are no proposals to change co-payments,
deductibles, co-insurance, or any other plan design feature.
Effective 1/1/09, the Company will increase the
amount of “Flex dollars” credited for waiving Medical coverage to $90 per
month.
A copy of the 2008 rates for
Medical, Dental and Vision and employee cost is attached.
LONG TERM DISABILITY (LTD) PLAN
Effective 1/1/09, the Company
will provide sufficient benefit dollars, under the FlexChoice plan, for
employees to purchase coverage with a 90 day waiting period.
WELLNESS PROGRAMS
The Company will pursue opportunities to develop
wellness programs, consult with the union for input, and provide the union the
opportunity to make recommendations regarding potential wellness program
initiatives. The union will establish committees
to provide input and to support and encourage the members to participate in
wellness programs that are established by the company.
FUTURE RETIREES
FUTURE RETIREE MEDICAL INSURANCE
Represented employees who retire on or after 7/1/08
after reaching age 55 with five to nine years of service and before reaching
age 62 will receive the same monthly contribution provided non-represented
retirees, which is currently $90 for retiree only coverage or $180 for retiree
plus family coverage toward the premium cost of company provided retiree medical
insurance until the earlier of reaching age 65 or becoming eligible for
Medicare.
Represented employees who retire on or after 7/1/08
after reaching age 55 with at least ten years of service and before reaching
age 60, will receive a monthly company contribution of $150 for employee only
coverage or $300 for employee plus family coverage toward the premium cost of
company provided retiree medical insurance until the earlier of reaching age 65
or becoming eligible for Medicare..
Represented employees who retire on or after 7/1/08
after reaching age 60 with 10 years of service or age 62 with five years of
service, will receive the same monthly company contribution as non-represented
retirees, which is currently $300 for retiree only coverage or $600 for retiree
plus family coverage toward the premium cost of company provided retiree
medical insurance until the earlier of reaching age 65 or becoming eligible for
Medicare.
FUTURE RETIREE DENTAL INSURANCE
Represented employees who retire on or after 7/1/08
after reaching age 60 with ten years of service or age 62 with five years of
service will receive the same monthly company contribution as non-represented
retirees, which is currently $24.50 for retiree only coverage or $45.00 for
retiree plus family coverage toward the premium cost of company provided dental
insurance.
FUTURE RETIREE VISION PLAN
Represented employees who retire on or after 7/1/08
after reaching age 60 with ten years of service or age 62 with five years of
service will be eligible to participate in the Vision Service Plan discount
plan as long as it is offered to non-represented employees.
FUTURE RETIREE LIFE INSURANCE
Represented employees who retire on or after 7/1/08
after reaching age 60 with ten years of service or age 62 with five years of
service will receive the same company paid life insurance benefit provided to
non-represented retirees, which is currently a $10,000 term life insurance
policy.
