Recently, our International President Ed Hill delivered an important live presentation concerning the State of the Utility industry and he will introduce the IBEW “Code of Excellence” program which will affect all of us.

OUR MISSION
IBEW Local 465 strives for dignity in the workplace for all of our members by collectively bargaining for better wages, benefits, and working conditions. We also endeavor to organize non-union employees so that they may enjoy the benefits of bargaining collectively. Some of the classifications we represent include: electricians, linemen, mechanics, train operators, office clericals, meter readers, gas operators, maintenance personnel, technicians, tree trimmers, laboratory personnel, and more. Our workers are some of the most highly skilled in the industry, and they carry with them a life-long dedication to their craft.
IBEW Local 465 represents workers at San Diego Gas & Electric , San Diego Transit , San Diego Trolley, Imperial Irrigation District , Davey Tree Expert Company , Asplundh Tree Expert Company , NRG Cabrillo Power Operations, and Provco. We have represented workers in the San Diego area since 1904, and we are affiliated with the AFL-CIO and the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council.
GENERAL MEETINGS are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the IBEW Union Hall, 7444 Trade Street, San Diego. As a courtesy, there is a shiftworkers meeting held at 11:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at the same location, along with a Northern District Meeting held at 4:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month in Vista, at the American Legion Hall, 321 South Santa Fe Avenue.
DESIGNATE YOUR PRIMARY PHYSICIAN! The Local would like to remind its members that they have the right to designate their primary physician for any on-the-job injury. What this means is that if you are injured on the job, you will have the right to be treated first by your own physician, as long as you fill out a from saying so. Members can pick up these forms at the Union Hall, or contact your shop stewards. We now have a convenient form available on-line, which you can just print and fill out. Just click on the link below.
